October is for Gratitude

October 1, 2016

"I'm so glad that I live in a world where there are Octobers"

~ L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

October is my birth month! And what better time than my birthday to reflect on my life and look with gratitude on my blessings?

This month, my goal is give a heartfelt account of my abundant blessings, for which I am eternally grateful. Life often has its ups and downs and it's often easy to fall into the trap of focusing on the negative. The more I read about the benefits practicing gratitude, the more I'm convinced that it's a key ingredient to having a joy-filled life.

This month's first post will focus on my most treasured blessings: my family - my husband and our three children.

This is my amazing husband, Andrew. I admire his gentle strength, his patience, kindness, and sensitivity. A remarkable father and husband, he is a steadfast light in our family. I am grateful every day that he asked me to marry him and that we have devoted our lives and hearts to helping the other become who we were meant to be.

We are deeply grateful for our beautiful boys:

Our oldest son is wonderfully kind, sensitive, and very loving. He is an avid reader, loves music (Mozart is a favorite) and really enjoys learning!

Our middle son has an incredible imagination, boundless energy, and a very prominent sweet tooth. He's a very affectionate little boy and always seems to have a gleam of mischief in his eye! He loves Peter Pan, all things pirate, and superheroes.

Our youngest son has beautifully affectionate spirit, is a little shy, very cuddly, and really enjoys his brothers. He loves reading little Golden board books, doing arts and crafts, and is always ready for an adventure.

Our family has a great deal of love and affection, enjoys fantastic meals and visits to new places, and makes a lot of wonderful memories. We are so grateful to have each other.

Thank you for stopping by -- I'm excited to reflect on my blessings with you this month. <3

So friends, please tell me -- what are you most grateful for?

With love,
